School-Wide Information

IMPORTANT DATES –

TONIGHT! – Thursday, February 6 – Spanish Night – This is open to everyone. Featuring skits, music, Loteria game, poetry, and short movies that are all about Hispanic legends, myths and celebrations. Led by the Senior students, it will be a fun night for students and our CCS community.

Wednesday, February 12 – Worship Night for K-12 Families – Let’s join in worship together! All K-12 students and parents are invited to attend this event that is led by our student worship team. Will Jones (10th grade) and Sawyer Lair (11th grade) will each share their testimony.

Monday, February 17 – Presidents’ Day – School Closed
 
Thursday, February 20 – All-School Spirit Night at Brixx Wood Fired Pizza – Let’s raise some “dough!” Order to-go or in-person at the Bradford location in Cary and Brixx will donate $4 from every adult entree and $2 from every kid’s meal to CCS! All money raised helps pay for Teacher Appreciation efforts like quarterly take home meals, all-staff parties and dinners, stocking the teachers’ lounge with drinks and the ever-so-popular Starbucks coffee machine! 
 
SAVE THE DATE! – Saturday, February 22 – 24-Hour Play Festival – Four student-directed one-act plays will be produced in a mere 24 hours and presented to an audience and panel of adjudicators. Everyone is invited, and admission is free.  
 
SAVE THE DATE! – Thursday, February 27 – First Grade Preview Day (9:00-10:15 a.m.) – Share your love of CCS with prospective families, especially those eligible for first grade next school year! This day is designed to give prospective parents and rising first grade students a taste of life at CCS. New families must register using this link.
 

ANNOUNCEMENTS –     

2025 Summer Camp Dates and Information for Grades K-12 – CCS offers a summer camp program that is open to families in the school who would like for their children to participate in a safe, organized, active, and enriching experience. All of our camps are led by qualified CCS teachers or parents who are enthusiastic about sharing their special interests, hobbies, and skills with eager campers. These incredible educational camps, integrated with a biblical worldview, are sure to be a super learning and social experience for all! For Camp Information and to Register, click here.

Wednesday, February 19 – Grade 1 Assembly – This is a special time for our first graders to take the stage and share what they have been learning. Parents are invited to join us for a reception after the assembly. Early dismissal for first graders will occur after the reception.

Friday, February 21 – Grade 8 – Science Fair – Students will showcase their innovative experiments and projects. Parents of 8th grade students are encouraged to come explore and learn from a variety of fascinating experiments. It’s a wonderful opportunity to see science in action and celebrate the hard work of our young scientists!

College Counseling

TODAY! – Thursday, February 6 – Friday, February 14 – Late AP Exam-Only Registration – Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors, the cost of late registration for an AP Exam is $180 per AP Exam which includes the College Board Late Fee ($40) and the CCS Late Fee ($25).   

Students who are NOT enrolled in AP classes may register to take AP Exams by following these steps:

  • Students must register for AP Exams in their College Board.
  • Parents must register on Veracross for the AP Exam Only.

Wednesday, February 19 – College Admissions Panel College representatives will share admission and other school-specific information with you. This panel is designed for Rhetoric school students and parents but is open to the entire community. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain knowledge on what makes each unique, financial aid information, and the admissions process.

ANNOUNCEMENTS –  

Junior Individual Meetings – It’s time for Juniors and their parents to book their individual meetings with Ms. Smith. Use this link to select a time. Meetings are scheduled during the school day and are held in Ms. Smith’s office. Parents can join in person or via the Zoom link. In preparation for these meetings, students must complete the Rising Senior Survey and PrinciplesYou in Scoir and parents must complete the Parent Brag Sheet.  
 
Seniors – A few notes for you:
    • Update your Scoir account as you hear back from colleges.
    • Send Ms. Smith copies of scholarship offers as you receive them so she can enter your information into Scoir.

Co-Curriculars

Thursday, April 3 – Deadline for Blakey Prize in Fine Art– This is an exclusive ACCS art competition. Visit the contest website for information and to look at past winners. Let Mrs. Blanchard know if this is something you might be interested in submitting artwork for as there are guidelines. CCS can only enter two pieces. If we have more than two works to submit, administration will vote on the entries to represent CCS.
