The Logic School Drama cast and crew did an amazing job at the NCTC Middle School Play Festival over Spring Break! It was a beautiful performance which fit perfectly within the stage setup at NC State’s Stewart Theater. Congratulations!

Awards received: Excellence in Production & Design – Stage Movement and Physical Storytelling (thanks to Mrs. Sullivan!), Excellence in Production & DesignCostumes, OUTSTANDING Production and Design Award to Jake Hallberg for Lights and Sound, Excellence in Acting to Daniel Stocker, OUTSTANDING Award for Ensemble Acting, Excellence in Directing to Carlene Cearley, SUPERIOR Rating and Festival Spirit Award!

We value your partnership in your child’s education, so if you have questions or concerns, please email your child’s teacher directly using first initial and last name @carychristianschool.org (Example: gwashington@carychristianschool.org).

Friday, March 24 – Parent/Teacher Conferences & Teacher Workday – If you would like to request a conference with your child’s teacher, please sign up for a timeslot through your Veracross Parent Portal.  The morning is set aside for professional development for teachers, and conferences will begin at 10:40 A.M.  

 

Sunday, March 26 – Chamber Choir Homecoming Concert – The Chamber Choir is thrilled for their Homecoming Concert to be the final performance of their choir tour that has taken place throughout Orlando and St. Augustine, Florida! The choir will be performing a variety of acapella, spiritual, classical, sacred, contemporary, and patriotic songs. All members of the CCS community are invited! This concert will allow the choir and their audience to close the tour on a warm and joyous note. The concert is free of charge, but you will want to arrive early because seating is limited. We hope to see you there! 

  • When: 6:00 P.M.  
  • Where: CCS Theater 

  

Thursday, March 30 – Donuts with Dads – All Lower School dads are invited to enjoy Duck Donuts with their Kindergarten–Fifth Grade student(s) at the Pavilion.  Coffee and milk will also be provided.

Thursday, March 30, and Friday, March 31 – Fifth Grade Country Days – Fifth Grade students have been studying a foreign country of their choice and will be presenting their reports in front of the class. We research how many Bibles have yet to be translated into their languages and how to pray for the work of the gospel in each of these countries. As part of our celebration, the students have the option to bring in a dish from their country, and we enjoy an international feast. We are thankful we serve a God of every tongue and tribe! Please pray with us that we will be a people with a heart for the nations.

 

Wednesday, April 5 – Teacher Appreciation Day – Send in a note or flowers to show appreciation for your child’s teachers!  Flowers and cards will be collected at morning carpool and arranged in bouquets to be shared among all the teachers, teacher assistants, and specials teachers.

Biblical Character – For the month of March, our Lower School students will be focusing on the Biblical character trait of forgiveness. “We forgive others just as in Christ, God forgave us.” (Ephesians 4:32). We are also learning what it means to “let love cover it.” (1 Peter 4:8).

Tuesday, March 28 – Eighth Grade Tea Signups Open – This year’s Eighth Grade Tea will be held on Saturday, April 15, from 3:00 – 4:30 P.M. It is a wonderful opportunity for our young ladies and gentlemen to prepare for the social events they will enjoy in Rhetoric School. Please plan for your child to attend! Signups will open Tuesday, March 28, and will close Tuesday, April 4. We are still looking for parent volunteers in both the 8th and 7th grades to assist with volunteer roles the day of the event. If you would like to volunteer at the Eighth Grade Tea, please email Ellen Wentz at ewentz@carychristianschool.org.  A separate signup genius will be sent out for those wishing to prepare food or loan serving pieces. Tuesday, April 4 – Protocol Signups Open – Protocol is a long-standing tradition for Rhetoric School Juniors and Seniors. The event this year will be held on Saturday, April 22, at 7:00 P.M. Signups will open on Tuesday, April 4, and will close on Tuesday, April 11. Parents, you will register your student through your Veracross Parent Portal.  As you register, you agree to the behavior and attire expectations. Career Connection Day Was a Huge Success – The Rhetoric Students were able to learn more about specific occupations. Thank you to our presenters!

The Southern Teachers Agency Calendar Art Contest – Students in Grades 8-12 are invited to enter this contest! Details about the contest can be found at – Southern Teachers Agency – Student Art Contest. Winning artists will receive five copies of the calendar as well as $100 in gift certificates for art supplies! This contest is limited to 10 entries, and there are currently 5 open spots. Please email Mrs. Blanchard at mblanchard@carychristianschool.org if you would like to enter! Artwork is DUE MONDAY and can be dropped off at the front desk with Mr. Shane, upstairs with Miss Eskridge, or in the Art Room.
