Congratulations to the cast of Bloodlett, by Senior Evan Cameron, on an incredible performance at NCTC and receiving several top awards:

The Kindergarteners had a lot of fun cleaning out pumpkins and counting their seeds this week!

The 7th Graders enjoyed teaching the 3rd Graders about the Tabernacle this week. Both grades have been learning about the Tabernacle in their History classes!

Friday, November 11 – POSTPONED: 5th Grade Field Trip to Camp Flintlock – Due to the upcoming tropical storm and multiple sicknesses, we will postpone this field trip.  We are planning to reschedule for Thursday, December 15. Please keep an eye out for future communications

 

Friday, November 11 – POSTPONED: Movie Night – We have decided to postpone movie night due to rain in the forecast. We are looking to reschedule in the spring. Please stay tuned for more details! If you are craving a community event, we would encourage you to mark your calendars for the grade-level Community Nights and help us spread the word!

 

Monday, November 14 – First Grade Community Night – First Grade students and families are invited to come out and enjoy some sweet fellowship with their classmates and families! We hope these community nights will allow our community to grow closer together while enjoying good food and having fun! Click here to see the dates for all our community nights! Friday, November 18 – 4th Grade Field Trip to the Planetarium – 4th graders will further their studies of constellations and deep sky objects in the night sky as they travel to the Morehead Planetarium.  They will sit where astronauts have trained, view a presentation in the dome theater, and marvel at the wonder of God’s creation.

 

Monday, November 21 – Tuesday, November 22 – 5th Grade Ocean Days – 5th graders are looking forward to two days of “fin”tastic ocean adventures. They will present their ocean animal research reports to an audience of peers and parents, followed by ocean-themed games, activities, and fun!

 

Monday, November 21 – Kindergarten Community Night – Kindergarten students and families are invited to come out and enjoy some sweet fellowship with their classmates and families! “Supply the Pie” – Thank you so much to everyone who has already signed-up. The deadline to sign-up for a pie is THIS Friday, November 11. A special way our community shows our love, gratitude, and appreciation for our staff and faculty is by providing them with a pie for their Thanksgiving holiday! We need all 106 pie slots accounted for! As an extra way to love on our staff this year, we have given you the opportunity to further donate to our teacher appreciation fund which will help raise additional funds for our Christmas festivities this year and next! This year you have three options:

 

Coats for the Cold – SSP Donations for Newport, Tennessee – Our Seniors are excited for their Senior Service Practicum and the ability to bless our brothers and sisters in Newport, Tennessee. Remember to bring in your gently used or new winter clothing. Donation collections happen each Friday between now and Thanksgiving!

SAVE THE DATE – March 13-17 – Drivers Education – We are excited to announce that Jordan Driving School and Cary Christian have teamed up to offer our students a Driver Education course in a remote learning format, online with a live instructor, during Spring Break 2023. The Knightly News will announce when Course Registration opens this winter! Freshmen Student/Parent College Counseling Meeting Recap – Rhetoric school academics matter! Students should apply themselves to the best of their ability, since colleges will see semester grades on transcripts. Students, get involved in things that interest you: art, sports, music, clubs, volunteering, etc.These activities help round you out as a person and can give you leadership opportunities as you get older. If neither parent nor student were able to attend, the handouts will be placed in the student’s locker today. Click here to view the PowerPoint.

Thursday, November 17 – Saturday, November 19 – An Evening in the Tri-Light Zone – These three one-act plays will illuminate the themes of human nature, suspicion, vilification, assumption of motives, and identification of our true enemies. Click here to read more and GET YOUR TICKETS! Bloodlett was just awarded a SUPERIOR Performance award at the NCTC Festival, the highest award it could have received. 

 

Save the Dates: Choral Arts Christmas Celebrations – Our Logic School and Concert Choirs are excited for their upcoming performances. Click here to read more. The concerts are free; however, we will have a ticketed entrance because of our limited seating.

Logic School Spring Sports Interest Sign-up – Next week at Mrs. Walsh’s desk Monday through Friday. If you think your child might want to participate in Girls’ Soccer, Track and Field, Boys’ Baseball, Boys’ Lacrosse, Boys’ Tennis, or Golf, please remind them to sign up.
