Corporate Membership Renewal – It is time to re-affirm Corporate Membership for 2023! Please click here to complete the form by October 24.

CCS Corporate Membership must be renewed each year on a calendar basis. You are being asked to re-affirm your commitment and partnership. There are several updates to the Statement on Christian Values that we ask you to review. The Corporate Membership draft will take place on November 1 for the 2023 calendar year.

Thursday, October 20 – TONIGHT!  Varsity Soccer & Football Double Header – CCS Family, join us TONIGHT to cheer on our Varsity Men’s Soccer team as they battle in the second round of the State Championship playoffs!  After a decisive 6-1 victory on Tuesday evening, we have another home game at 5:00 P.M.!  Then stay as our Football team celebrates Senior Night at our last regular season Varsity home game – kickoff is 7:30 P.M. but be early to see our seniors recognized.  Theme for this game is PINK OUT!  We will have The Dog Father and Empanadas RD NC food trucks on campus!  Be sure to support these wonderful vendors who partner with us!

Friday, October 21 – Blood Drive – Please join us for our annual blood drive in the gym, hosted by the Community Connections Club and Red Cross Club. If you donate blood, you will receive a $5 e-gift card for the merchant of your choice. Click here to sign up for a time slot! Lower School Convocation – For the month of October, we are focusing on the biblical character trait of Honesty.  We can honor God by being honest and always telling the truth.  Lying and stealing are forms of dishonesty.  Our students will be learning, “Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” 1 Corinthians 13:6.

 

Lower School Parents in Prayer – We are excited to offer grade-level prayer meetups for you to join other parents in praying for our students by name, our families within our community, our staff, and our school! You are invited and encouraged to attend these prayer meetups! Each grade will meet at different dates/times, so we encourage you to reach out to your grade-level Coordinator, if you have not already heard from them, their contact info is below. If you have multiple children, you will have multiple meetups to choose from, so please feel free to attend the one that works best for you or multiple if you wish! What a blessing to know that our community is being faithfully covered in prayer!

My Hot Lunchbox Change (Thursdays) – Moving forward this year, our Thursday lunch vendor will be Jersey Mike’s.

 

Hoedown Dance Sign-Ups – Rhetoric School students (9th-12th), sign-ups for our annual Hoedown Dance on Saturday, November 5, are in the Commons Area from now until Friday, October 28. Be sure to sign-up for this fun night of line-dancing, fall treats, and fun together! The event begins at 7:00 P.M. on the football field.

 

Rhetoric School Clubs – Our students and faculty have worked hard to develop over 30 clubs for our Rhetoric School! Please click here to see what clubs we offer and learn a little about them. Since the Club Fair, we have added a new club: the Youth and Government Club. This is a national club that includes competitions and neat opportunities for our students.

October 28, Friday – AP “Exam-Only” Registration Deadline – There are 2 steps to registering for the AP “Exam-Only” Tests.  Click here to access the AP-Exam joining codes.

    1. Students must register for AP Exams on their College Board account.
    2. Students or parents must pay the $100 through Veracross Pay.

Students who are in AP Classes at CCS (AP Biology, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, AP Physics) are already registered and have paid for the corresponding AP Exam.  No further action is needed from students in our AP Classes.

Sophomore Student and Parent College CounselingMeeting Recap – Rhetoric School academics matter! Students should apply themselves to the best of their ability since colleges will see semester grades on transcripts. Get a tutor if necessary. Also, students, get involved in things that interest you: art, sports, music, clubs, volunteering, etc. which helps round you out as a person and can give you leadership opportunities as you get older.  If neither parent nor student were able to attend, the handouts were placed in your child’s locker today. Click here to access the slide show from the meeting.

  

Monday, November 7 – Deadline to Apply for the Governor’s School – Juniors, are you interested in the NC Governor’s School?  you have about two weeks to apply for a CCS nomination for Governor’s School of North Carolina. Sophomores, if this intrigues you, there are limited opportunities in dance, choral music, and instrumental music for Sophomores.  Please click here for more information.

Winter Sports Tryout Information: 

 

Monday, October 17 – Thursday, October 20 – Logic School Uniform Return – All Logic School fall athletes must turn in their uniform this week. Students won’t be eligible to try out for winter sports or participate in the Basketball Open Gym until all fall uniform pieces have been returned. There will be a table during lunch at the pavilion. Items won’t be accepted at the Athletic Office. Please bring them during lunch time to the Pavilion.
