Friday, April 25 – Saturday, May 3 – K-12 Spring Art Exhibition – Plan a walk around Lower School to see a sampling of student artwork in our yearly school-wide art exhibition. Everything from carvings, wire sculptures, paintings, oil pastel work, graphite drawings, printmaking and more from grades K-12.
Wednesday, April 30 – Robotics Team Expo –The Robotics Team welcomes you to this year’s Robotics Expo where you will engage in robotic demonstrations, experience hands-on sessions for kids, see a 3-D printer presentation and learn more about the Robotics Team. Please plan to join us. Bring your curiosity – no prior experience needed!

Thursday, May 1 – Saturday, May 3 – Rhetoric School Spring Drama Production: A Midsummer Night’s Dream – Magical, mischievous, and musical! Things are getting weird in the woods! Do not miss this unforgettable journey into the enchanted world of the delightful Shakespearean comedy classic that has been making audiences laugh for over 400 years.

Thursday, May 8 – Senior Thesis Encore Night – You will hear four of our seniors speak on a variety of relevant and challenging biblical and cultural subjects. Each presentation will last 5-10 minutes followed by a 10-15 minute period of dialogue as they answer questions from audience members. We are especially excited to welcome CCS alumni back to campus to take part in this event- this time, from the other side of the podium! In next week’s The Knightly News, we will announce the names of students who will be speaking and their topics.

Lower School (K-5th)

TOMORROW! Friday, April 25 – Lower School Grandparents’ Day – We are looking forward to welcoming grandparents and special guests to our campus to share a glimpse of our excellent classical education founded upon a biblical worldview. The schedule for the day’s program can be found here.
Wednesday, April 30 – Grade 2 – Field Trip to the Zoo – Turtles, lizards, alligators, snakes; some of these reptiles give us the shakes! Second grade students have spent fourth quarter researching a mammal or a reptile and writing an animal report. Their upcoming visit to the zoo is a long-awaited day to experience and marvel at God’s handiwork. Students will be on the hunt for the animal they have studied.
Wednesday, April 30 – Grade 4 – Reformation Celebration – Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, Solus Christus, Sola Scriptura, Soli Deo Gloria! Salvation is found by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, according to Scripture alone, for the glory of God alone! Fourth graders will spend the day celebrating the Protestant Reformation. They will eat a special “Diet of Worms” snack, analyze and sing Martin Luther’s famous hymn, “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God,” learn to write 5 Solas in calligraphy, map the European countries involved in the Reformation, burn the bull, and more!
Friday, May 2 – Kindergarten Mothers’ Day Tea – This is a special time just for Moms and their Kindergarten students. The students are looking forward to presenting a program to honor their moms. You bring the hugs. We’ll provide the tissues.

Wednesday, May 7 – Grade 1 – Field Trip to Strawberry Patch – The garden season in first grade is coming to an end. The first graders are going to visit DJs Strawberry Patch to enjoy fresh picked strawberries with ice cream. Is there a sweeter way to celebrate a great gardening season?
Wednesday, May 7 – Grades 3-8 – Classical Learning Test (CLT) – This standardized exam is administered to all students in Grades 3 – 8 during the school day. No at-home studying or preparations are needed. Be sure to get a good night’s rest, eat a hearty breakfast, and arrive to school on time as the test will be administered at the start of the school day.

TOMORROW! – Friday, April 25 – Rhetoric School Executive Leadership Team Applications for 2025-2026 – Rhetoric School students, If you have an interest in serving in a leadership role next year in House, Social, Service, Worship or Communication, request an application from Mrs. Walsh’s desk and fill it out even if you were in a position this past year. The application process tells us you are interested in this upcoming school year. All applications are due Friday, April 25, by 4:00 p.m. Please see Mrs. Hillsgrove or Mrs. Walsh if you have any questions.

Thursday, May 1 – National Decision Day – May 1 is National Decision Day. Seniors, be sure to pay your enrollment deposit and enter your decision in Scoir. If you are on the Wait List at a college, it is recommended that you deposit at your second-choice college. If you need to meet with Ms. Smith, email her for an appointment. Use the Calendly link.
Thursday, May 1 – Senior Photo – Next Thursday is the Senior photo with your college or next-step t-shirt. The photo will be taken right before you are released for lunch. We can’t wait to see where God is leading you!

Monday, May 5 – Friday, May 23, 2025 – AP Exams – These will be administered to those who have signed up. Bring your own charged laptop. If you have questions about what AP Exams you are taking, check your College Board Account. Use this link to see the locations, times, and reminders. Individual emails will be sent to students for each exam. Veracross attendance has already been documented as excused, however, please communicate with your teachers.
We highly recommend that students familiarize themselves with how the digital AP Exams will flow, click here and scroll down to resources and watch the video.
Parents, do not order My Hot Lunch for your student if they have a noon AP Exam. They will need to bring lunch on those days.
