September 15

Dear Parents,

On Patriot Day this Monday, September 11, our students, faculty, and administrators will gather for a moment of prayer for our nation, our first responders, and our military service members. Annually on this national holiday, we lower the school’s U.S. flag to half-staff to honor the precious lives lost on 9/11/2001, we read the names of CCS alumni who have answered the call to serve our nation and our communities with bravery and courage, and we lift them up in prayer to Almighty God, our comforter, our refuge, and strength. We invite you to pray this Patriot Day Prayer with us from your home or office or wherever you may be this Monday morning.

Patriot Day Prayer

Father God, You are our strength and our refuge. In this season of remembrance, we lift up those in our country affected by the events that occurred over twenty years ago.  We pray that you continue to comfort and sustain them.  We also pray for those in our community who have chosen to serve in our military and as first responders.  Please protect them and give them peace. Thank you for your goodness, for your faithfulness, and for the hope that we have in you. Yours is the glory forever and ever, Amen.

Apply Now for Siblings – 2024-2025 School Year – God has been so kind to CCS by bringing us 852 wonderful students! This is record enrollment for our school’s history. We encourage you to apply now, as we have already received many applications for the 2024-25 school year. There are two ways to access the application: (1) Go to your Parent Portal on Veracross where there is an “Apply to CCS” tab on the left, or (2) go to the CCS website where you will see the “Apply Now” button on the home page.

  • As we look at this current school year, nine of our grades have waiting pools. Many of the students placed in waiting pools for this year will want to be placed in the pool for next year.
  • We anticipate another year with many more applicants than we have seats for children.
  • Approximately 50% of our rising Kindergarteners come from current CCS families. We would be sad to see a current CCS family placed in the waiting pool because they did not submit their application early.

Why do you need to hear this now? As you think about or talk with friends or family members about when you, or they, should apply for their children, we ask that you encourage all to apply early.

Registration for This Year’s 23rd Annual CCS Golf Classic is Open!

If you would like to volunteer or have any questions, please contact Ellen Wentz at ewentz@carychristianschool.org.

Friday, September 15 – Homecoming Senior Tailgate – We are so excited to celebrate CCS Homecoming with the Class of 2024! It is time for our second annual senior tailgate on the baseball field before the football game. During this time, only seniors and their parents are allowed on the baseball field. There will be food trucks on campus, but students are also encouraged to bring their own food and beverages to the tailgate. Students must enter the field to park between 5:30-6:00 P.M. Students should drive through the gravel lot to the lower left field entrance next to the storage sheds to join the tailgate. Mrs. Clarkson will be directing students where to park. If students are late, they are welcome to walk down to the field and tailgate with their friends. Students are not required to park on the field to enjoy the tailgate. Students who parked for the tailgate may only drive off the baseball field during halftime and after the football game. For the sake of safety, they may not come and go as they please. If a student needs to leave the game early, they should move their car during halftime. If these times do not work for a student’s plans, they are encouraged to park in the parking lot. We are looking forward to a fun, safe, and memorable evening cheering on our Knights!
