Fourth Graders used manipulatives in Math Class to explore tessellations! They practiced making shapes that fill a space with no gaps or overlaps.

These students placed in the top 1% nation-wide on the PSAT/NMSQT and have officially qualified as Finalists.  They are now eligible to compete for the National Merit Scholarship Awards. Congratulations!

Wednesday, February 22 – First and Third Grade Assemblies – Our students are excited to take the stage and present what they have been learning!  This will be a beautiful opportunity for parents and friends to see a display of an excellent, classical education founded upon a biblical worldview.  After the assembly, parents are invited to join us back in the classroom for a reception. There will be an early dismissal for students following the reception.

      • Third Grade Assembly at 10:00 A.M. with early dismissal at 11:00 A.M. 
      • First Grade Assembly at 11:30 A.M. with early dismissal at 12:30 P.M.

Friday, February 24 – Parents in Prayer – Parents of Lower School students are invited to join bi-monthly prayer meetings that will foster community with one another as we intercede for our CCS family. There is no need to RSVP!

Tuesday, February 28 – Last Day to Order a Yearbook – This is the last day to guarantee a Yearbook for the 2022-2023 School Year. Order your Yearbook directly through Jostens or on your Parent Portal. 

 

Wednesday, March 1 – National Latin Exam for 5th Grade – The National Latin Exam is given annually to Latin students around the world.  The NLE is an opportunity for students to receive reinforcement and recognition for their accomplishments in the classroom. Students do not need to study individually.

    • Co-ed Basketball (3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade) – On Tuesdays, Led by Coach Shane Scott 
    • Co-ed Volleyball (4th and 5th Grade) – On Wednesdays, Led by Coach Regan Scott
    • Co-ed Tennis (4th and 5th Grade) – On Thursdays, Led by Coach Cheryl Hamel

 

Uniform Reminders – Parents, as we move into the spring, your children are growing.  Please check uniforms to ensure they are the correct size and length. Spring Break is a great time to place orders or go to FlynnO’Hara to shop!

 

Snack Breaks – We have noticed that many of our students are looking for food to enhance their snacks and lunches provided from home. Please speak with your child to see if they may need more food packed to help them get through their busy day. Vending machines are located in both 1st Floor Stairwells and are available for students to use before and after school, during morning nutrition break, and at lunchtime. Cash bills and coins are accepted.

Friday, February 17 (Tomorrow!) – AP Exam-Only Late Registration Period Ends – Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors, the cost of late registration for an AP Exam is $165 per AP Exam, which includes the College Board Late Fee ($40) and the CCS Late Fee ($25).  To register, complete the two steps below. Both steps must be completed!

  2. Register for the AP Exam on College Board and use the Joining Code Link.

Wednesday, March 1 – Thursday, March 2 – Logic School Drama Performance – CCS NCTC Drama presents The Greek(ish) Myth of Marcyonome by Alan Haehnel. All CCS families are invited to come watch this short comedy! Tickets are available for purchase here!

The Southern Teachers Agency Calendar Art Contest – Students in Grades 8-12 are invited to enter this contest! Details about the contest can be found at – Southern Teachers Agency – Student Art Contest. Winning artists will receive five copies of the calendar as well as $100 in gift certificates for art supplies! This contest is limited to 10 entries, and there are currently 6 open spots. Please email Mrs. Blanchard at mblanchard@carychristianschool.org if you would like to enter! Artwork needs to be turned in no later than March 27.

Spring Sports Calendars – Spring Sports are now posted on the Athletics Calendars website as well as on the Athletic Bulletin Board. Families have the option to subscribe and print team-specific calendars at these websites. Please share with your family and friends!

Spring Forms – All athletes must have completed forms on file in Magnus. If you have already completed these forms for the 2022-2023 school year, there is no need to submit again. You can find these forms in Magnus through your Parent Portal or on the Athletic Bulletin Board. Forms must be completed and uploaded by March 17.
