Thursday, April 13 – Thursday, April 27 – Senior Thesis Presentations – Senior Thesis Presentations began on April 13 and will continue until April 27. We invite all CCS families to come support and celebrate our Senior students in this academic achievement. Thesis presentations are held in the Theater. Wednesday, April 19 – Fourth Quarter Midterms Were Posted – Fourth quarter midterms were posted to your Veracross Parent Portal. Please email your child’s teacher directly if you have any questions or concerns. All staff member emails are their first initial and last name @carychristianschool.org. (example: gwashington@carychristianschool.org)   

 

Friday, April 21 – Parents in Prayer – Parents of Lower School students are invited to join prayer meetings throughout the Fourth Quarter that will foster community with one another as we intercede for our CCS family. There is no need to RSVP!

Friday, April 28 – Lower School Grandparents’ Day – The Lower School is looking forward to welcoming grandparents and special guests to our campus to share a glimpse of our excellent classical education founded upon a biblical worldview. 

    • Parking: All open parking spots, including the numbered and lettered spots, will be available for use that day. If overflow parking is needed, shuttles will be running to and from Peace Presbyterian Church.

Wednesday, May 3 – First Grade Field Trip to Duke Gardens – First Graders will explore the beauty of Duke Gardens as part of their study of plants. They will hear a program presented about Habitat Hunters, spot some common North Carolina plants and trees they have learned to identify, and see some more exotic and diverse plants and flowers.

 

Thursday, May 4 – Rhetoric School Spring Drama Production – Tickets are now available for Rhetoric School’s adaptation of Pride and PrejudiceClick here to reserve your seat now! This isn’t your grandmother’s Austen! Bold, surprising, boisterous, and timely, this Pride and Prejudice for a new era explores the absurdities and thrills of finding your perfect (or imperfect) match in life. Literature’s greatest tale of latent love has never felt so theatrical, or so full of life than it does in this effervescent adaptation.  

    • When: Thursday, May 4 – Saturday, May 6, at 7:00 P.M.; Saturday Matinee Performance at 1:00 P.M.

SAVE THE DATE – Concert on the Lawn: An Evening on Broadway – Cary Christian School Choral & Instrumental Arts proudly presents an exciting evening of song and performance featuring a selection of timeless Broadway hits! This evening will showcase the talent and hard work of our Upper School Choral and Band students. From the golden age of musical theater to today’s modern shows, this evening of music will bring to life the romance and drama of songs from popular shows and beloved musicals. Lawn chairs, blankets, and picnics are welcome at this outdoor event! So, join us on the lawn to get swept away in the grandeur of Broadway. It’s sure to be an evening to remember!

Friday, April 21 – Last Convocation of the Year – We look forward to hearing from junior Ben Elliott about cultural Christianity and Michele Blake, licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, about mental health and self-care from a Christian world view. 

 

Saturday, April 22 – The Annual Protocol Dance for Juniors & Seniors – A beautiful Great Gatsby themed night of dancing and fellowship is planned for our 11th and 12th Graders in downtown Cary! (Registration is now closed.) Photos will be at 7:00 P.M., and the Grand March will begin at 7:20 P.M. 

 

Thursday, April 27 – Last House for Rhetoric School Seniors – We will have House on Thursday, April 27, in place of House on Friday, May 5. Seminar will be held on B Day on Friday, May 5. 

 

Friday, April 28 – Senior Skip Day – The Seniors will enjoy a day off campus to fellowship with each other and celebrate as they approach the last few weeks of their time at Cary Christian School. Students and parents are responsible for planning the day as this is not a school sponsored event. 

 

Wednesday, May 3 – Eighth Grade Resurrection Debate – The Resurrection Debate is a capstone of the Logic School. This project synthesizes a variety of subjects into one project where the students learn to defend the most important truth in Christianity, the bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Students analyze the worldviews of Secular Humanism, Islam and Postmodernism, as well as the Christian worldview, in order to “give a defense for the hope that we have.” They combine the skills of reasoning learned in Logic, persuasive writing learned in Composition, and the theological significance of the Resurrection learned in Bible into several days of formal debate.

 

Wednesday, May 3 – Senior Next Step T-Shirt Day – For this final Senior Day, our Seniors will wear a shirt that signifies where they plan to go after Cary Christian School. We are proud of our Seniors and so excited to see what the Lord has in store for them! A class picture will be taken at the Oak Tree at noon. Seniors, please be on time so you don’t miss this Cary Christian School tradition.

Monday, May 1 – Friday, May 12, 2023 – AP Exams will be administered to those who have signed up. Please use this link to see the locations, times, and reminders. Individual emails will be sent to students for each exam. Veracross attendance has already been documented. Please communicate with your teachers. 

  • Parents, please do not order My Hot Lunch for your child if they have a noon AP Exam. They will need to bring lunch on those days.
