Eighth Grade Tea – SAVE THE DATE!  – This year’s Eighth Grade Tea will be held on Saturday, April 15, from 3:00 – 4:30 P.M. It is a wonderful opportunity for our young ladies and gentlemen to prepare for the social events they will enjoy in Rhetoric School. Please plan for your child to attend! While student registration will open after Spring Break, planning is underway, and we are looking for parent volunteers in both the 8th and 7th grades to assist with volunteer roles the day of the event. If you would like to volunteer AT the Eighth Grade Tea, please email Ellen Wentz at ewentz@carychristianschool.org. A separate signup genius will be sent out after Spring Break for those wishing to prepare food or loan serving pieces. Additionally, please click here to access the dress code guidelines. Spring Break is a great time to get a jump-start on shopping for attire.

Protocol – SAVE THE DATE! – Protocol is a long-standing tradition for Rhetoric Juniors and Seniors. The event this year will be held on Saturday, April 22 at 7:00 P.M. Signups will open on Tuesday, April 4, and will close on Tuesday, April 11. Parents, you will register your student through your Veracross Parent Portal.  As you register, you are agreeing to the behavior and attire expectations. For more details on the venue and attire, please click here.

Handbook Edit – Smart Watches – As smart watches are becoming more common amongst our Logic School students, they are also becoming more of a distraction. Since smart watches are similar to phones, we are adding them to our current phone policy. Your student heard this announced on Tuesday, and we want to clarify this for you also. Thank you for your support as we help our students stay focused during their school day. See below for the following changes to our Student Parent Handbook

  • Logic School (6-8) students may not wear smart watches during the school day. If they bring one to school, just like phones, they should be turned off and left in their lockers from 7:55 A.M. – 2:30 P.M.
  • Rhetoric School (9-12) students may wear smart watches during the school day with data turned off and silent during class. Students are responsible for turning in their smart watches during assessments to avoid misunderstandings and/or confusion about the use of a smart watch.
