Reaffirm Your Covenantal Commitment

Cary Christian School’s enrollment policy requires that each family review and sign the Corporation Membership on an annual basis. Prior to the re-enrollment period, each family must be able to reaffirm their covenantal commitment to the school’s values, which set Cary Christian School apart from other schools: Statement of Faith, Educational Philosophy, Organizational Philosophy, Corporation Membership, Mission, and Statements on Christian Values (Marriage, Sexuality, and Gender; Sanctity of Life; Final Authority).

Click here to read and sign by November 1. (On November 15, each family will be auto drafted their membership fee.)

NOTE: At least one parent or guardian of each student attending Cary Christian School must be a member of the Corporation.

Any unclaimed items will be donated or discarded. Each week, campus-wide items are consolidated in the K-2 stairwell. If you cannot find your belongings in the hallway or gym bins, please check the K-2 stairwell throughout the month. If you have any questions, contact Ellen Wentz at ewentz@carychristianschool.org.

Collections for Senior Service Practicum (SSP) – Please put aside ANY cold weather outerwear items (coats, hats, gloves/mittens of all sizes) that you wish to give away for our “Coats for the Cold” collection that will start the week of November 13 for our annual trip to Tennessee. These items should be gently used and freshly laundered then bagged. Stay tuned for more information regarding drop-off.

Reminder – Apply Now for Siblings – 2024-2025 School Year Make sure sibling applications are submitted to Admissions soon (ideally no later than December 1) because we already have ~60 kindergarten applications. Our Open House in early November will generate even more interest. We need to be able to plan for siblings first. To get started, use the button on the Veracross Parent Portal.

Vision Nights

Where Beauty Confronts Purpose – Remember to RSVP! – Our Vision Night events for Rhetoric School wrap up tonight and we are moving onto Logic School next week. Be sure to register for a date in your grade level (see links below).

If you have students across more than one grade level group, you are welcome to select the date that works best for you in any of those groups. The general message is the same, but there are some differences based on the grade level meetings. It is ideal for both parents to attend, so you can also register for a couple of event dates if the family calendar means that you need to participate on different evenings.

We are aiming for 100% participation of our parents, faculty, and staff!

Any questions may be directed to Mrs. Kelly Butler, Director of Marketing and Communications.

Event Options:

 – ANNOUNCEMENTS –

Midterm Reporting Change for the Upper School:  Historically, Midterm Progress Reports have been issued at the halfway point between the four official Report Cards. Due to the live, real-time accessibility to your child’s grades in Veracross Parent and Student Portals, we have made the decision to no longer issue Midterms in the Upper School for grades 6-12. Instead, the school will post reminders in The Knightly News encouraging parents to look at their child’s progress mid-way through the term in Veracross. The four Quarterly Report Cards remain the official record of grades.

Academic Lists and Ribbons – Cary Christian School has traditionally acknowledged the academic achievement of earning Dean’s List or Dean’s List with Distinction by awarding ribbons on a quarterly basis. In grades 2-8, we will continue that tradition. However, in grades 9-12, we will no longer distribute ribbons. Instead, we will publish a Rhetoric School Dean’s List and Dean’s List with Distinction after the Semester Final Exams are calculated into the Semester grades.  Rhetoric School students who have earned Dean’s List or Dean’s List with Distinction all year will have that designated on their transcript under academic honors.

Student Clubs – Did you know? – There are a wide range of student-led clubs in the Rhetoric School. Clubs help to cultivate and strengthen the CCS community, and student leadership skills are also developed with respect, responsibility, and thoughtfulness. Mr. Adams is organizing the clubs this academic year as part of his student discipleship work, and we are grateful for the faculty advisors associated with each club. Click here to learn more about this terrific opportunity for students.

Additional Tutors Are Available to Help! – We have added tutors to the list of CCS-approved high school student tutors. This list is linked on the Veracross Parent and Student Portals and here. Students have provided their availability and preference of subjects for $15/session. Arrangements and payments are handled directly between the tutor and the hiring parent. The upstairs Commons Area is available on weekdays after school until 4:00 P.M. If you have any questions or concerns, please email the Tutor Coordinator, Isaac Young, or the Academic Dean, Mr. Kevin Seitz.
