Wednesday, February 7 – Worship Night – Let’s join in worship together! All K-12 students and parents are invited to attend this event that is led by our student worship team. A few students will also share their testimonies.

Friday, February 9 at 5:00 P.M. – “Honor a Teacher” Nomination Deadline – Remember to nominate a teacher in this year’s Cary Chamber of Commerce’s annual award, click here.
Tuesday, February 13 – Firm Foundation – These monthly meetings, through May, are designed for CCS parents who want to dig deeper into the world of classical, Christian education. Hear from CCS guest speakers, read and discuss several books related to our mission, and help build community among fellow parents. For those interested in becoming eligible to serve on the Board of Directors, these sessions help serve as a conduit to satisfy some of the prerequisites necessary for Board service eligibility. – ANNOUNCEMENTS –
2024 Summer Camp Dates and Information for Grades K-12 – CCS offers a summer camp program that is open to families in the school who would like for their children to participate in a safe, organized, active, and enriching experience. All of our camps are led by qualified CCS teachers or parents who are enthusiastic about sharing their special interests, hobbies, and skills with eager campers. These incredible educational camps, integrated with a biblical worldview, are sure to be a super learning and social experience for all! For Camp Information and to Register, click here.

Snack Breaks – We have noticed that many of our students are looking for food to enhance their snacks and lunches provided from home. Please speak with your child(ren) to see if they may need more food packed to help them get through their busy day. Vending machines are located in both 1st Floor Stairwells and are available for Upper School students before and after school, during morning nutrition break, and at lunchtime. Lower School students may only access the machines before or after school. Credit cards and cash are accepted.

TONIGHT! Thursday, February 1 – Community Night (5:00-8:00 P.M.) – Grades 3 and 5 – Stop by Amberly Local for dinner with friends! Be sure to mention Cary Christian School when you order and a portion of all sales will go towards our school!
Friday, February 2 – 5th Grade Red, White, and Blue Day – The calendar might show the 2nd of February 2024; however, we are celebrating the 4th of JULY of 1776 in conjunction with our history lessons. We will have a special assembly as well as some fun activities and games. Fifth graders may wear a patriotic shirt and/or hat.
Wednesday, February 7 – Second Grade Assembly – This is a special time for our second graders to take the stage and share what they have been learning. Parents are invited to join us for a reception after the assembly. Early dismissal for second graders will occur after the reception.

Upper School (6th-12th)

Friday, February 2 – Convocation – Guest Speaker Jimi Clemmons, Chaplain for the Cary Police, will share about his life and then students will do a service project.
Wednesday, February 7 – Worship Night – Let’s join in worship together and hear the testimonies of some classmates: Firuz Azimov, Dalen O’Brien, and Merritt Russell. All K-12 families are invited.

POSTPONED to Thursday, February 8 – Spanish Night at CCS– Featuring impromptu skits, music, dance lessons, poetry, and musical performances that are all about legends, myths, and Hispanic celebrations, these fun activities will be led by Senior students, culminating 3 years of Spanish immersion. Family and friends of Spanish students are welcome!

Week of February 12 – Knights Fest – Upper School students (Grades 6-12) – Get ready for a fun week of activities and competition. These are the theme days for attire. Refer to the Uniform Guidelines in the “Parent Resources” section below.

College Counseling
Thursday, February 8 – Friday, February 16 – AP Exam-Only Late Registration Period – Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors, the cost of late registration for an AP Exam is $180 per AP Exam, which includes the College Board Late Fee ($40) and the CCS Late Fee ($25).

Wednesday, February 21 – College Admissions Panel – College representatives will share admission and other school specific information. This panel is designed for Rhetoric school students and parents, but is open to the entire community. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain knowledge on what makes each unique, financial aid, and the admissions process.

– ANNOUNCEMENTS –
Junior Individual Meetings – It’s time for Juniors and their parents to book their individual meetings with Ms. Smith. Use this link to select a time. Meetings that are scheduled after school will be held via Zoom. Meetings scheduled during the day will be in person and parents can join in person or via the Zoom link. In preparation for these meetings, students must complete the Rising Senior Survey and Principles in Scoir and parents must complete the Parent Brag Sheet.
Seniors – If you need to meet with Ms. Smith to discuss college admission decisions or do a practice interview for a scholarship, schedule via Calendly.

Monday, February 5 – Volleyball Interest Meeting – For those interested in participating in volleyball for the Fall 2024 season, attend this meeting for plans regarding spring and summer open gym, tryouts, and all information leading up to the fall season. If you cannot attend this meeting, contact Coach Regan Scott (phone: 310-709-3919) for this information and to indicate your level of interest.
